The rainbow is a continuous spectrum. Colours are a discontinous category. We see colours, but they aren't there as such. We easily label something as green, but not as blue-green (unless you are a fashion designer or gay). Our minds are designed to pick up certain categories easier than others.

I think the colors in a rainbow are red, yellow and blue. Any other color is a mixture of any two of those colors. Baron Max
