Hi evryone... don't know if you have ever had this problem, but i was cleaning my key board today (just a casual dust) - Now, certain keys are locked with numbers.
How do i reverse this process?
Th e only saving-grace is that when i type, if i hold down the Fn key, it will allow me to use the correct character, but as soon as i let go, the keys are disfunctional again.
If anyone knows how to help, would they tell me how to switch the lock?
    Thanks
    Reiku

Hi everyone. Thankyou all for your responses.

Getting a new keyboard isn't really an option, you see, i'm working off a laptop. I've tried restarting as well... but Vardi... you sound as though you know what you are talking about- Funnily enough, someone else told me to find the Num Lc. key, but i've searched my keyboard, and nothing here has that discription. Could the key itself go by another symbol?

Sorry, I didn't realise that you were talking about a laptop or I would have not expressed my idea.

Numlock is pretty much the answer or at least very near, some laptops with the lack of a Numeric Kepad use a Function (FN) combination to convert the normal keyboard into the Numeric keypad. So you might have to work out which FN combo turns the keyboard back to being a normal keyboard, rather than 'extended'.

You did what Stryder said, only accidentally. Now work out what you did, so you know what to do in future.

    Yeh, cheers stryder.
Oh, i don't know if i want to start meddling with the keys again... I've never had this problem before... I'll just be careful not mess it up again... Whenever i clean it, i'll make sure the comp is off eh?
    See ya later!
