I made a little trip home from college over the weekend to grab a few things, and one of the things I didn't think I'd leave with was a tin of sardines. They were in the cabinet, and my grandfather tossed them into my bag.

I love trying new foods. At some point I'm gonna have to open that tin and eat one. It's inevitable.

Does anyone here like sardines? What do they taste like? Texture? Tips on how to eat them?

Are they packed in water or oil? I enjoy the oil more but they aren't bad either way. I usually eat them with Ritz crackers or saltine crackers. They are very fishy tasting so be prepaired .

    Oil.

Can you compare it to anything?

Well this took an odd turn. So sardines are comparable to a vagina? Vagina's in oil. Gotcha.

Don't even bother to think that it tastes anything like that, you will be very disappointed when you eat them. They are very soft and eat them whole if you want.

They're gagalicious. I recommend swapping them for some fish fingers.

They aren't bad, but I like to share dried whole anchovies with my cat.

    Yep.

    Salty / oily non-pickled herring.

Fragile like whitefish with a bit more grit.

    Take a bite and chew.
