I would say they certainly might influence local culture to some degree, but "destroy" is a very strong word!
If a culture is destroyed by it's citizens watching films from different cultures then that culture wasn't really solid or cohesive enough in the 1st place.
On the contrary, it enriches. Unless you are talking about american movies spreading out of control throughout the planet. Then, yes, it does.
