    Hi,
I bought a new training costume for myself and it says that it's washable in cold water.
Does it really mean cold (as in ice), or is it +30C on the washing machine?

    Thanks

Probably the water from the cold water tap.. I think. So, what.. 15 degrees Celcius or something ? I don't think they meant ice water.

cold water cycle in the wash machine. If it says hand wash, then cold water out of the tap like Enmos says.
    (you're over thinking it

What I usualy do with these washmessages is as follows:
cause it is new you better do a handwash the first time.
for all further washes you use 30°C...it is the best for your clothes and enviroment.

No, if it's "washable" in cold water, it doesn't mean that it has to be washed in cold water. Does it.

It doesn't say that it ought to be washed by hand. Furthermore I have no intention of doing it.
It's a hardened fabric for martial arts, I'd bruise my hands washing it by hand.

Hummm, I'll see what's the coldest temperature that washing machine can get.

You're assuming Wren and Martin wrote the instructions, I'm speaking from a knowledge base of two years of textile chemistry.

It'll toughen up your skin more effectively than punching paving slabs. Don't you want tough, leathery skin to hit people with?

it means put it on a quick wash in your washing, being carefull what detergents you use, it is advisable not to use softners on clothes that need cold water wash

I never use softeners in the wash, only drier sheets. And I never use powder detergents because sometimes they don't completely dissolve and they stick to your clothes.

Oh, who am I kidding. I mean, I don't buy those things. I don't do laundry. My husband does.
