I was filling out paperwork that my kids bring home from the first day of school. As always there was the school insurance form. It said in teeny tiny print that if my child was hurt due to an act of war, they were not covered. Act of War??? Was 9/11 an act of war? Was Columbine an act of war? What exactly is an act of war?
Few things in life aren't acts of war. The very notion of insurance pits the insuree against the insurer. The system is so incompetent that it is divisive rather than cooperative.
i thought war had to be declaired before it was an official act of war. terrorism is an act of war, so is a suicide bombing. but i dont think some random guy shooting up the school is an act of war. because it was a random act of violence, not a war. war is seperate to killing, otherwise regular murder and attacks on the street would be classed as war. i think it has to be declaired. but who knows i could be totaly wrong. peace.
I wonder when this got added to the policy. Right after 9/11 or when we went to Iraq? and Neitz, I agree wholeheartedly with you. It just screams loophole to me.
A good rule of thumb is domestic violence differs fram an "ACT OF WAR" so i would not worry about the specifics.
