"I'm leaving SciForums..." - - - - - - - - - - Why do some people post this? It seems like they never really leave, and even then, not many people care. It's just a forum on the internet, and no one is stopping you from leaving. I don't know why people say they get bored of reading or writing here, but saying goodbye to a website is like saying goodbye to a grassy lawn. It can still grow and will probably not be affected by your absence. While you're intent on the lawn you can have an effect. You can dig it up, stomp on it, piss all over, or water and treat it for growth. But if you leave the lawn alone...

I think some people spend a LOT of time here and feel they have gotten to know other frequenters, so for them saying 'bye' is a polite gesture. I've been reading sciforums for ages actually, but there are always new names I've never seen before with 1000's of posts. I wonder how many people recognise my screen name!?

Last forum I left, it was a more technical science forum where an admin got fussy at me because I asked what a guy's credentials were. Where I was just trying to find out if he was the kind that I could consider credible for this particular subject, I kinda got shat on. So, I just walked out. No byes, no "you'll miss me when I'm gone, you bastards!", just freaking leave, that simple.
Isn't this like the 5th thread commenting on good-bye threads I've seen in the last month? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
