If there has been so many wise men against it, even men you follow or look up to, nobody seems to really understand the idea of non-hating: "Hatred does not cease in this world by hating, but by not hating; this is an eternal truth" ~ Buddha "Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated." ~ Coretta Scott King "Like hatred, jealousy is forbidden by the laws of life because it is essentially destructive" ~ Alexis Carrel "Hatred is the madness of the heart" ~ Lord Byron "Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred" ~ Proverbs 15:17 "Hatred stirreth up strifes, but love covereth all sins" ~ Proverbs 10:12 "We must remember that any oppression, any injustice, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization" ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt "When we don't know who to hate, we hate ourselves." ~ Chuck Palahniuk "Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated." ~ George Bernard Shaw "It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get." ~ Rene Descartes "Hatred paralyses life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. "A true man hates no one." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte "If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us" ~ Hermann Hesse "The price of hating other human beings is loving one's self less" anonymous "Love blinds us to faults, hatred to virtues" anonymous Just something for us to think about, I´d like to hear your ideas on this matter...
"Hate is something that some people do for fun and enjoyment." Baron Max "War and killing is something that some people enjoy doing." Baron Max "Dropping bombs from four miles high is fun ...sorta' like a video game - impersonal regardless of how deadly." Baron Max "Some people can easily justify killing and death by citing hatred as the logical reasons." Baron Max I can think of many more such words of wisdom, but I'm kinda' tired. Baron Max
Oh, geez, I thought the tread was about interesting sayings. But now I see that it's about lovey-dovey, gushingly childish, mostly-useless sayings that everyone spouts, but so very few act on. Baron Max
“It is better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for someone you are not.” Andre Gide “You hate someone whom you really wish to love, but whom you cannot love. Perhaps he himself prevents you. That is a disguised form of love.” Sri Chinmoy "Hate and Love - two sides of the same coin" -Me/I don't know "You can safely assume that you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do.” - Anne Lamott "Those who hate most fervently must have once loved deeply; those who want to deny the world must have once embraced what they now set on fire.” - Kurt Tucholsky "Hate is such a luxurious emotion, it can only be spent on one we love." -Bob Udkoff "Human nature has a dual constitution; to hate as well as to love are parts..." -'Sir Arthur Keith' "The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends." Friedrich Nietzsche
Osho said that in 1985. And is correct, love and hate are two sides of the same coin, it is the same energy although canalized in opposite directions. The question here is why our body harms itself when in anger state? If our brain is the root of emotions, why should you let something external to you, harm you voluntarily? I don´t think the people in your quotes knew what love truly is (=
I am sure i have not ever hated any one, wanted to kill them may be, the i only reason not to was loss of freedom, so as yet i have had no reason to loose it.
Not wanting to derail the thread, but you should start a thread ...What is hate exactly? Is it just thought, emotion? Or does it have to manifest itself only in violence of some kind? But back to the thread; Some people may not like hate and/or judgement, but it's something that's natural for humans to do ....else they wouldn't do it so fuckin' much! Baron Max
So ...you're judging me? Why? Just because of a few words that I typed? Now it that ain't hate, I don't know what is!! ....LOL! Baron Max
My Mom alway said (and she probably stole it from someone) "Hate is a hot coal. You hold it in your hand, waiting to throw it at the person you hate. Meanwhile, it is burning your hand and they are oblivious or could care less"
Or you could just hold the piece of hot coal in some forceps or something. that way you don't burn your hand. You could even use the forceps to dip the coal back into the fire to keep it warm as you wait for your hated. :roflmao:
