Apparently Tony Blair is planning to convert to Catholicism as soon as he steps down from his position as Prime Minister of Britain. Here's a couple of interesting questions: 1) Why should he feel it's necessary to wait until after he ceases to be PM? Just because the majority of Britain is Anglican? Isn't it a bit rediculous that that would be controversial? 2) Why should the prime minister of a country that allegedly gives equal rights to all its citizens appoint the bishops of one particular church? 3) Why is the queen, the head of state, also the head of one particular Church (and I know the history and the reformation so don't give me a lecture). Shouldn't that be changed in today's world? 4) What effect do you think Tony Blair becoming a Catholic would have had on the Northern Ireland power-sharing peace-process if it had happened a year ago?

Hmmm... well let's look at the facts: 1) His family are Catholic. 2) He goes to Mass. 3) He has taken Holy Communion. 4) He's currently down chatting to the Pope in the Vatican. 5) He didn't deny it in an interview. :shrug:
