I propose a new complaint system. Hey. Where are you all going? Hear me out. Now, this is a sciency-type forum and in the free congress of ideas, sometimes stupid or insane ones get posted. For example, if Nickelodeon or redarmy were to make a thread or something. Anyway, what about assigning non-detrimental scores to indicate the wackiness of a particular post? For example, when MetaKron says that all science is corrupt and evil, everyone could dump these "nutbar points" on the thread to indicate the ridiculousness of the argument. No infraction points, no bannings. Merely a qualitative indicator of how ridiculous the point is.
Kind of like giving users the ability to dish out infractions a while back. sounds good. but too many on here would horribly abuse it. someone with a personal bias against someone would nutbar the shit out of there material even if it made sense and then the nutbarings would cause numerous "should this be nut bar'd?" threads which would cause the mods to take away the option and cause another "should we be able to use nutbars" thread and then we'd all die.
Can you imagine how many nutbar points the great innovators of scientific history would have accumulated?
