hey i was just wondering orginaly why did we tame animals into bieng our pets and why do we grow to love them?
Well i don't know why we tamed animals in the first place, but i reckon the reason we grow to love them is because they're always there for you. Even if you do something so stupid, and you lose all your friends, your pet will always be there for you.. it's like they have unconditional love for you or something... lolol
yeah, maybe... but i'm sure my old dog, Honey loved us. maybe it depends on the person and the pet? someone said that animals can't love like humans love, but i reckon they might... i dunno..
lol. yeah. so why do you reckon people first tamed animals anyway? maybe for company? food? or something else??
probably for somthing to help them survive well the first dog was a wolf so hunting animal and horses transpot i think we can kinda gather the rest but i wonder what made them start to care for them as companions
Well, I'm fairly sure that at first, we tamed animals to help us hunt and defend ourselves. As for why we love 'em now? Well... how can't we love 'em?

I've always been partial to the (unproven) hypothesis that: (i) pet ownership started with dogs (which I believe has been demonstrated), (ii) dogs were originally used as hunting tools after domestication; and (iii) humans (individuals or cultures) who were partial to dogs tended to have higher survivability rates than those who did not, thus giving most people a genetic and/or cultural predisposition to liking dogs. From there it was easy to pass that along to other animals. Basically it's the same hypothesis as exists for: "Why do people find watching fire so fascinating?" People who liked fire had a survival advantage because they better learned to control fire as a tool, and their genes were disproportionately passed along.
my son had an hamster called "stinky" and he loved her, he cleaned her out twice a week held her, but the hamster knew when it was time for my son to come and hold her, so i am convinced she loved him back, but sadly we had to give her away because we found out that my son had an allergy to her, and he was gutted!!
My old friend Dr. Lou would say that it started with the dog. Man and dog: two natural predators who learned to co-operate for their mutual benefit. Man feeds dog; dog assists and protects man. Perfect symbiosis. But then my old 'friend' Dr. Lou is an idiot, and a laughably banned one. Dogs protect their owners because they're stupid. Their owners tolerate having them around, even though they're a pain in the arse, because we know we can eat them if there's nothing else around. Ha ha. God, we rule.
