that really sucks for them. It looks like the older generation is imposing these hair bans and clothing bans, and they will slowly die out. Slowly but surely. The related article points out that these standards have actually decreased since Ahmadinejad was elected. Apparently Iranians ignore the dress law for the most part, except that the police close down stores. It is more determined by the husbands, who are likely to be religous. I looked up tehran on google images to see what they wear, and I never realized this, but tehran is a very pretty city. Massive mountains in the background. Wow. And some of that architecture is nifty too. Iran actually looks like a nice place.

The article says ban, but then again it is rather vague on the matter if it consists out of an official policy carried out in the entire country.
