    Democratic Side:
    Hillary Clinton
    Barak Obama
    John Edwards
    Joseph Lieberman

    Republic Side:
    Sam Brownback
    Newt Gingrich
    Bill Frist
    Rudolf Giuliani

Not all have formally announced but this is where all the money is.

(Lieberman poses as a Dem but is really a neocon. He's an independent.)

I thought left and right just had to do with the free market?

Nope. While it's true that the left is against the free market, they also oppose any US military action.

The Clinton administration did more for free trade than anything Junior's done, ever.

Neocons aren't pro-free market, they're pro-business, and big business at that.

Conservatives and libertarians are also opposed to US military adventurism overseas.
How will we pay for our first losing wars? Shall we clean up our deficit before building a new trillion dollar one?
Reason for reluctance in endorsing war on countries Israel fears? We don't win!
The US should require that before we invade any one else we first win the first 2 wars. Then PAY for them. Then raise taxes to pay for their 3rd war. THAT would greatly slow the armchair hawks from bankrupting our country and creating a far more unstable world.

Clinton isn't "Left." He's a conservative centrist. Pro death penalty, against legalization of :m: supports restrictions on abortion, supports anti union legislation (Right to Work) he's a baptist and opposes gay marriage. Hardly a Leftist.

So what does left and right mean?

Like a political ruler: The far left side is communism. The left of center is liberal and progressives. Center are the spineless moderates that have no convictions, right of center are conservatives, further right are neocons and then liberatrians. The far right of the ruler is fascism.

Obviously, my statement only applies to Democrats since Vietnam. Prior to that, politics stopped at the water's edge. Since then, the Left has consistently opposed US military action, military spending, and anything related to the military.

Well put. You might also throw in the origin of the terms.

In the national assembly prior to the French revolution thost in favor of the monarchy (conservatives) sat on the right side of the aisle while the radicals who wanted to overthrow the monochary sat on the left. Ever since then, conservatives have been described as "The Right" and liberals have been described as "The Left".

See my Pat Buchanan article in the politics fora.
Maybe Vietnam taught us imperial warmongering doesn't pay off? Just costs billions and takes lives and you still lose?
Conservatives, Libertarians. liberals and Leftists are opposed to the Bush wars. There is no benefit to the US by destabilizing entire regions of the world for nothing. For little Saddam's head? After Rummy shook his hand and aided him in using chemical weapons on Iranian troops and civilians? Oh THAT'S the kind of WMDS we like. This was 2 years after the Kurds tasted Iraqi chemical weapons, made by Dow.
Yes. Oppose foreign adventurism and foreign quagmires and use the military to defend the USA.
You want more war? How will we pay for the first two losing wars? Tax hike is obvious.
Now we know you aren't a conservative OR libertarian, but a neocon hawk willing to bankrupt the nation and build an axis from our ever increasing enemies by behaving as Rome did in her final decades.
    The epitome of unwashed arrogance.
