I posted these in another thread and thought since it is a great thread in it's own right why complicate it with miscellaneous video's and lyrics...so post 'em here

    - only music stuff.

I guess lyric's are ok as far as copyright since theyre freely available, I realise I'm kind of limited in my taste but here goes:

    We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
    We feel miles apart inside

Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
    Though I tried
But I guess thats why they say

Move over baby (move over baby)
Gimme the keys (gimme the keys)
Im gonna try 2 tame your little red love machine
(Im gonna try 2 tame your little red love machine)

    Little red corvette
    Baby youre much 2 fast
    Little red corvette
U need 2 find a love thats gonna last

    Little red corvette
Honey u got 2 slow down (got 2 slow down)
    Little red corvette
cuz if u dont u gonna run your
Little red corvette right in the ground

I combined 2 songs ^, wouldnt they be cool idea to play together?

A song is an organic whole. Seldom do I encounter lyrics that have the same impact in print. Aimee Mann has a way of writing lyrics like that and I've posted a couple of hers. Here's one by another of my favorite chanteuses. It always makes me cry when I listen to it, but I'm not sure it's anywhere near so powerful without the music. How many people have had that one love, "only once"?

    Only Once
    by Maria McKee

I’ve never been obliged to stay in one place for too long.
There’s a bad seed bred inside me and it keeps me moving on.
Have I ever been persuaded to give it up and stay at home?
Was I tempted by an angel?
    Only once.

Now I want to be the kind of girl who’ll only make you proud.
But the noise and fuss and wanderlust will always drag me down.
But if anyone should ask me, have I ever been in love?
I will think of you and tell them,
    "Only once."

Only once did a pair of lips on mine make me cry.
Only once for a pair of arms around me would I die.
I will love you till I’m saved.
I will love you from my grave.
And a love like this can happen
    Only once.

All the men who try to save me weave their wicked web around me.
All the ones I try to save drink their fill and leave me lonely.
Have I ever felt salvation wash me cleaner than a dove?
    Was I ever nearly happy?
    Only once.

Only once was a stupid girl allowed to tempt her fate.
Only once did I think twice and twice was once too late.
I’m going down like Jezebel and my body aches like hell.
Share my bed just to forget? I said, "No,"
    Only once.

Allright, this is what I am looking for, stuff i never heard before. Thanks
That's true, sometimes the best lyrics make hardly any sense at all:
    ----------------------------------------
Oh, some hazard from Harvard was skunked on beer, playin' backyard bombardier
Yes, and Scotland Yard was trying hard, they sent some dude with a calling card, he said, "Do what you like, but don't do it here"
Well, I jumped up, turned around, spit in the air, fell on the ground and asked him which was the way back home
He said, "Take a right at the light, keep goin' straight until night, and then, boy, you're on your own"
And now in Zanzibar, a shootin' star was ridin' in a side car, hummin' a lunar tune
Yes, and the avatar said, "Blow the bar but first remove the cookie jar, we're gonna teach those boys to laugh too soon"
And some kidnapped handicap was complainin' that he caught the clap from some mousetrap he bought last night
Well, I unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw a gap but figured he'd be all right.....
    ----------------------------------------
The lyrics above could easily be used in a childrens book, except for the "clap" part. The whole song is so easy to remember mainly because the word's flow so naturally

The first two springsteen album's are loaded w\ imigery and great story teling, if anyone reading this has not heard them check them out.

By contrast Nebraska is much darker and of course (if i remember correctly) all acoustic. I read somewhere that Springsteen used his interpretation of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Starkweather and the events surrounding this case for inspiration, primarily Nebraska. At one time i really thought extenuating circumstances lead people to do bad stuff but now I am not so sure, possibly i have become more cynical and less prone to romanticization.

If anyone recognizes this you get an "A":

    ----------------------------------------
And circus boy dances like a monkey on barbed wire
And the barker romances with a junkie, she's got a flat tire,
And now the elephants dance real funky and the band plays like a jungle fire
Circus town's on the live wire
And the strong man Sampson lifts the midget little Tiny Tim way up on his
    shoulders, way up
And carries him on down the midway past the kids, past the sailors
    To his dimly lit trailer
And the ferris wheel turns and turns like it ain't ever gonna stop
And the circus boss leans over, whispers into the little boy's ear "Hey son, you
want to try the big top?"
All aboard, Nebraska's our next stop.
    ----------------------------------------

Note: The Jimi Page clip is real bad, the audio isnt even close to syncing w\ the video, i posted it w\out listening to it. It is from "The Song Remains the Same" DVD, Page is clearly at his best at this MSG concert.

With Page live sometimes it was hit or miss, but when it came to writing music and in the studio he was masterful.

Also, the Sabbath video is cool to look at but the visions conjured up in your mind listening to the song are often much better. Many of their early work is very visual, kind of like short movies put to music. I really think Ozzy has\had one of the best voices in music...go figure.
