To add something foolish, i.e., "all black people look the same" to an otherwise funny coincidence, i.e., that newscaster looking like the wanted man, is a sad misdirection and sabotage of an otherwise "funny" event. "Funny" as in strange. As we all must agree there are plenty of white rapists, and if the newscaster had a matching mustache and had some facial similarity to a picture of a white guy, it would be just as funny as a coincidence. Anyone who says "all X race look alike", just proves they have been sheltered from experience of other races enough not to be able to notice the differences in facial features - basically pointing out that they are uninformed and unsophisticated.
I wouldn't exactly say the sketch artist went all out to make the picture resemble a black man, where in there does it even say that he is black?
