I've been noticing mostly around office type settings that many, many woman are smokers. I can't really understand the appeal of this especially since these woman are not exactly unattractive. Almost always I see sexy, alluring, and tall woman who are smoking outside. I'd appreciate any insights you can offer to help me understand. Also what do you think of it?
I am not sure if your observation is correct, but smoking boosts your metabolism. And when you quit, your metabolism slows down and people tend to put on weight. Plus, smoking is cool.
The painful way in which smoking sucks the life out of you is attractive to women because it reminds them of bearing children, their sole purpose in life.
Actually, Absane is correct. A study was released just this week that found there was no difference to be found regarding weight gain when comparing female smokers versus non-smokers. It's when you stop smoking that the weight gain occurs. Personally, I think it has more to do with the fact that women are constantly bombarded with the message theat they need to be 'hot'. Why do women smoke? Because they can. Not common anymore in this area, and even less so in other parts of the US. I smoke because it tastes good, looks good and feels good. I'd guess women smoke for the same reason.

I seen this thread and thought "Did sderenzi start this thread?" You mean cigarettes? Why does ANYONE smoke? So their prayers can go to heaven? I would never touch tabacco. I stay away from anything you smoke actually, it's all horrible on your lungs. I do smoke if I'm drinking beer though, otherwise I throw up. I can't stand the piss taste of Colt 45s.
