They're dead, they've ceased to be, i really couldn't care less for how they or someone else did it...
I believe Kurt cobain was murdered....in light of all the evidence you really can't deny it. How can someone take such a high dose of heroin (not methadone) intravenously and then have the time to take the needle out of their arm, roll down their sleeve, put all the drug shit back in the box, close the box, take a shotgun, place the shotgun in their mouth, and have the agility to shoot themselves in the mouth, without falling into a coma in five seconds flat? Then there is the matter of the shotgun having no prints, the long-term plans made by Kurt Cobain, the divorce (out of which Courtney Love would have got nothing thanks to a prenuptual agreement - there's the motive) and the splitting up of Nirvana, all of which are well known about these days. Plus you have some guy who passes a lie detector test "beyond possibility of deception" (according to police test conductor) stating that Courtney Love asked him to kill Kurt Cobain for $50,000, who then is mysteriously hit by a train. Hmmm....
