Recently i was shown this puzzle that i have not been able to get for the life of me. Try this out and tell me what you think. Its a mensa like puzzle, and everyone that i know who has tried it has been stumped.

The way the puzzle works is, you have a five point star, one with five triangles for each point, and pentagon in the middle.

from this triangle you have to add two straight lines to make these five triangles become 10

P.S. Let me know if you solve it

Yeah but the problem is that this only has 9 triangles.

Et voila! 10 triangles, no added lines.

with regards to that you need to have no overlap of triangles, meaning that there cannot be lines within

    Good point.

Your 1/3 pent sounds a bit too easy to be the answer, but maybe it is

Eh? lol, finding it a bit tricky to visualise.

Ah I see what you mean. Putting a 'T' shape with 2 lines in the top triangle? Yeah, that could be it.

I did wonder what you were on about and that was my attempt btw, not a visualisation of yours ^

I'm sure it is somethingly annoyingly simple and once (if) we find out, we'll be a tad pissed off.

I take it you decided this would have 11 triangles?

True, but I'll be extremely pissed off if that's the answer. I hate those shoddy conclusions to these kind of things.

the star already has 8 triangles in it, you only need to add 2 more, but you don't want them to accidentally make too many, therefore you have to put them in such a place as to have them not make other triangles.

exceuse the poor drawing, I just borrowed the existing one, and added some lines real quick in mspaint.

yours would also work, unless there is a rule about draing them outside.

It wouldn't I don't think, just realised that makes 3 more triangles. One inside main star shape, one outside and one combining the two.
