    i was just wondering if their is a technical term for the part of earth that is in the dark.

    also if theirs a term for the moon's dark side , other then the dark side of the moon

    Umbra. Night. Dark. Given the definition of "night", the word is technically about as correct as anyone could want.

    The moon's "dark side" is actually a partial misconception for many people. The side turned away from the earth is called the moon’s dark side, even though it is lit half of the time.

    More accurately termed the "farside".
