Greetings all, It occurred to me today that there are at least a few musicians on this site and I've grown curious as to what they sound like in their playing. So, I've decided to create a thread as an open invitation to all who play music to record themselves and to make their sound available for their sciforums family. In this vein, I've had to take the difficult step of going first. I picked up the guitar a few years back. And devoted some small amount of time to learning how to play some songs. I was rather surprised to learn that I prefered the softer, more melodic acoustic songs than the harder metal tunes which had always been my preference as a listener. But such was the case. So, I present to you a list of various songs that I recorded using a crappy mic about a year ago for another thread. I had originally planning on ressurecting that thread, but when looking through it, I realized that none of the links were good anymore, so it would be only two pages of empty conversation with absolutely no working links. So. A new thread it is then. I will warn you right now that I'm no virtuoso. I have several flubs in my playing. And I can't even claim to be better now. I'm ashamed to admit that I put my guitar down and have severely slacked on practice for the past half a year or better. (A problem that I have begun to attempt to make up for lately, by the way. Funny how time passes.) Without further ado, my songs: Babe, I'm gonna leave you by Led Zeppelin Is There Anybody Out There by Pink Floyd Over the Hills and Far Away by Led Zeppelin Diadems by Megadeth Moonlight Sonata, Part One by Beethoven Monlight Sonata, Part Two by Beethoven Fur Elise by Beethoven Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Dust in the Wind by Kansas Dee by Rhandy Rhoades Harder Stuff: Angel of Death by Slayer Unknown Slayer Tune (I'm having a brain fart and can't remember the title to this tune.) The Four Horsemen by Metallica Blitzkrieg by Metallica (Be gentle, good people. Should I put forth the pre-emptive defensive line of 'self-taught'? Muaha!) So? Let's here you now. Guitar. Piano. Jew's Harp. Whatever.
Pas mal, invert. I'm not a musician, at all, but you are quite good. I like your choice of songs as much as your ability to play them, especially after limited training. Good job.
I only have a couple of recordings here and they are complete crap and not worth listening the playing isnt great either... i'm a gurl Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! i'm working on learning how to use the new equipment and soon ill have something worth posting i liked yours Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! the recording isnt very sharp (although it isnt nearly as bad as mie are), but you are pretty good at teh guitar the acoustic ones were very nice
Holy crap. Not bad, invert. Now if you can learn Solfeggietto on guitar, I would really crap my pants.
sweet man i play guitar as well i havent bin as much lately though i cant check out your songs right at the moment though this computer has no speakers but i will check them out as soon as possible here are a couple sites with my music www.soundclick.com/iszy - my full songs www.soundclick.com/mindgamesentertainment - my beats productions let me know what you think if you get the chance to check them out
my music is on my website, colegrey.com, and myspace page -myspace.com/colegrey. I have a lot of new stuff I have been writing, but it isn't recorded yet, it will probably be a while. I'll post some stuff of me re-recording some other people's songs for some unnamed thing. Keep in mind, I did these as fast as i could, to get the money and be done, because i wasn't feeling too inspired by this gig. I just have to figure out a way to post stuff to a pubic site. P.S. invert - I couldn't get your things to play, what format are they? I'll probably have to use a differnt computer.
Cole, They're in mp3, but the site sets them up to play with windows media player. It's just a site I found when I came up with the idea for this thread. I found some download sites, but I wanted something that would host media files. It would be nice if they would just host it directly as an mp3 and allow the user's system to play it however it wants, but I suppose if it did that, then you'd be able to hotlink it and they wouldn't get the advertising or something. I take it that you're on a Mac? Damned artists...
here are my bands. i sang in the first one until it broke up about 8 months ago. i currently scream my face off in the second one. endicott - www.purevolume.com/endicott JAWS! - www.myspace.com/swimforyourlife

invert_nexus, nice rendtion of "Babe I'm gonna leave you". I would love to learn the song someday, but only got a few bars down. Is it hard???
It's pretty easy, actually. Just an A minor arpeggio. It only really starts getting difficult when it gets to the part where he starts singing, "Leave you in the summertime... leave you when the summer comes along..." You really gotta stretch your fingers there. You know. I'm surprised by how often that A minor arpeggio pops up in music. Is there anybody out there? A minor arpeggio. Landslide? A minor arpeggio. If I remember right, Unforgiven by Metallica is an A minor arpeggio too....
"Is there anybody out there?" Yes, invert, we are all out here. Reading what you write. Wondering....was that an A minor arpeggio? :m:
