I heard from a friend that Tim Hortons is going public in the end of the month. Does anyone know if that is true? Any information?

TH's is one of the few non-techrelated companie I would invest in.

But isn't it already public, since it is a part of wendys?

    Hey Xerxes,

Which other companies would you invest in? Do you have a portfolio?

Not currently. If I HAD money to invest, I certainly would.

    Some good tech stocks:
    Apple Computers
    Sun Microsystems
    Smaller biotech stocks
    Semiconductors

It varies over time. And it also depends if you're going for short or long term.. I tend towards short term. You can see some of my choices in the sciforums investment game.

Do you know any good tech companies that are going public?

I tend to be more interested in the nanotechnologies and space technology......

Btw, would you invest in a company which you don't agree with (for example, its practices or vision), if it was a great deal?

I don't know of any IPOs, but I know of a good tool for finding other stocks

No, I wouldn't invest in a company with which I strongly disagree.

I wouldn't invest in such a company either....
In the end of last year, I knew Rogers Communications' shares would increase in value, but I totally don't like their customer service and pricing, so I didn't invest....

Do you know any good place to find IPOs....?

Not any that I'm aware of.

Truthseeker, I'd be VERY wary of tech IPOs.

Well, if they have a good plan, it's not as risky...

Not worth the risk, IMHO. Especially when you got a family to think about.

Huuuumm.. it's not like I'm liable. My liability is still limited to the amount I invest.
In any case.... what would you suggest then?
