Hey ppl I have an idea, lets post here some air vehicles, that you think are the future of air travel
Ok so theres this air vehicle called Ekip, it was created in Russia, city of Saratov. The vehicle's beauty is in the fact that the body of the plane acts both as a wing and as a place for cargo or passengers. Added to that the plane is amphibious. Now I think the plane is beautifulll, here's its picture...

Another vehicle that I believe is the pillar in the future of air vehicle technology is...SpaceShipOne, made here in USA and used to transport humans to near-orbit
Here it is...

Not to mention the pollution problems. I'm sure those things use up a lot more fuel than normal cars.

Maybe not with the traffic laws we have today that were designed for road travel. And you can't say that heavy traffic in air won't work, it's never been observed with the new traffic laws that would be implemented.

Domesticated Om, that car looks awsome, must be using lotsa fuel.... Ok AmishRakeFight....air vehicles will not replace the cars, they will simply add as a new type of transportation to the cars. Dont believe me? NASA researchers at Langley Center believe that designing a more silent and efficient car is the key to success of an air vehicle in a city.

Well, the future of air vehicles are small jets like those from http://www.eclipseaviation.com/

But with the peak oil phenomenon looming, only the very rich will benefit from them.

Hey, not exactly the future of air vehicles...but an interesting idea...this thing has an oblique wing, the idea is that the wing rotates to its most efficient angle for wind distribution causing less resistance.
