This remark was made about CLINTON by a US Congressman, Rep. James Hansen (R-UT) back in 1998. I saw this in another thread, but it was just so mind-boggling that it truly deserves its own thread. If I had started this thread with the same subject line, but targeted it towards Bush, I'd be under arrest by the end of the day. And deservedly so. So how is it that a Congressman gets away with such statements on PUBLIC RADIO?

    Three word: First Amendment Rights

It sucks I know, but unless someone acted on his last suggestion he's okay.

Same reason the Bush administration got away with Iraq and WMD.

Laws are for little people like you and me only.

Ah the good ol days of the government spying on my internet useage and invading countries that had nothing to do with us just to secure an influence on future oil rights...

    Ah I miss Clinton...

Why can't Bush spy on my internet useage as much as Clinton did, that's right because Bush doesn't care about going through everyones stuff and digging up their porn.

So two wrongs make a right? I doubt anyone was for Clinton spying on us either. But then people like you seem to think it's fine "all because Clinton did it".

    Idiots.

Democrats and Republicans are all the same especially when they're in power.

Yeah that's right, I say that it is fine because Clinton did it...

    That's some pretty funny stuff.

    You mean right now?

Never thought I would actually say I missed Clinton but with this current administration I truly do miss Clinton.

Do you have proof of Clinton spying on you? No, that's because their is none. The fact is Bush admitted to committing felonies over and over again. And also when Clinton was spying on you it was legal, under Bush it's just another example of him abusing presidential powers.

Yeah I know because Project Carnivore never existed, nor did we invade Yugoslavia, bomb Afghanistan after the Unocal-Taliban agreements fell through or bombed Iraq and funded a terrorist organization within Iraq...

you guys are too funny. you go on and on about everything thats wrong in the world yet you show that your no differant.

  16. your first amendment rights do not include what is generally known as "incitement" to murder or assassination. the supreme court has ruled on this several times. it is especially important when it is deemed a threat on the life of the president. in that case, your words or actions need only to show intent, they do not even need to show a clear and present danger.

A majority voted for the other guy twice and that didn't work. Attempts to impeach seem rather futile if we can't get any prosecutions for election fraud.

  18. i have to say, this seems an apt statement. in recent history most or all politicians have made some policy decisions that you or i would find almost totally antithetical to the american way of life. this is because the people of our country no longer have any real control over their government. it is just a sign of the decline of our society. unless something changes the current political landscape in a meaningful way, america will become irrelevant within a century, and we will only be able to blame ourselves and our appointed representatives.
