    Postulation:

The american embargo against Cuba should not be maintained because:

    A. the embargo was commenced for immoral reasons.

    B. the embargo was continued for immoral reasons

As long as Cuba mantains a socialist economic system the US embargoe will continue , of note is the EU and US clashing over investments within Cuba at present . It is obvious Fidel Castro will die at some near date , and what the EU sees is a mercantile foothold in before America , for a more investment freindly post Castro goverment . The US sees this and is changing its belligerent attitude towards Cuba .

Why would the US be afraid of a socialist economic system, a small one on top of that, if capitalism and free market are so much more superior in their nature (according to their political dogma).

Interesting. Just where did you pick up the idea that the U.S. was afraid of Cuba????

you know what is needed don't you? a one world gov. that incorperates all the different types of gov.
the only problem with that is patriotism and or nationalism
so i suggest the various govs of the world undergo the change without telling the people. that way the govs of the world will not have any problems and the people won't get nervous.

as far as cuba goes, well i ain't ever had a good smoke heh, heh
like i said elsewhere we should kiss and make up.
will something like that fly? yeah, in your wildest dreams.
the military needs an enemy, but we now have terrorists so it might work.

Cuba is very insignificant and nobody hears from them at all. Maybe Castro will pass on here shortly.

Plutocratic paranoia , nothing frightens the wealthy more than ideas of equal and fair wealth distribution . The containment of Cuba was a priority , ideas of economic equality sound good to the impoverished populations of 3rd world nations . Social revolution can spread like a wildfire and almost did in the 1960s through to the 1980's in Central America . You only have to look at the mildly socialist platform Hugo Chavez is implementing in Venezuaela and study the frentic US and EU reaction to it . A good historical example is Chile under the democratically elected socialist goverment of Allende , the economic reforms he instituted such as nationalization provoked a US inspired and backed coup . This coup saw Allende murdered and thousands of socialists disappear and freemarket doma enforced and protected by a bloodthirsty military .
