simple answer is... yes... as long as i dont age...
'cause living forever with ageing would totally suck...

imagine living 10 million years as a bed ridden old man without bowel control... awful.

If I had a choice die right this minute or live forever, I would die now. No doubt about it.

As long as we don't turn into Frenchmen with naff Scottish accents, I'm up for it. I long to see what the future holds for humanity; good or bad.

Could I die? or would I be like some sort of immortal ghost in perfect health?
If I could die, and I was awake, in perfect physical and mental health, then yes I would like to be able to live forever. I would like the option of dying though... I wouldn't want the universe to end and then I keep living in total darkness with no sensory imput, etc.

This is a reposted forum, but I cannot find the original one that was posted a couple of months ago. Does anyone know where it is? It addressed all of this.

The argument went through "not being able to stay healthy," "memory loss," "possible future insertion of brain chips," "alzheimer's and physioligical, mental, and physical breakdown," "Adam and Eve's offspring living to over 800 years old," "God saying something like man shall live to 120 - or something like that," and then I agreed that 120 sounds like a pretty good age considering all we had discussed.

Does anyone know where this forum is?

Anyways, the oldest person on Earth today is 109. God bless her. She is mentally alert and seeminglu in fairly good health. I still stand by what I said in that last thread: "120 seems like about the proper age to me." Anymore than that then you run into enormous complications in life that you physically AND especially mentally couldn't handle. Memory fades away, and then others would ask you "hey, remember about this and that important event," but you'd be unable to answer. Then you'd be labelled as a dementia case, a lunatic, or a nut. How would you deal with all those very important cumulative memories that you would forget and not be able to recall?

I don't really know, don't care. It's fine either way.

In the constant cycle of "death" and "rebirth", nothing dies. Your atoms will keep being a part of this universe, whether in the form of a body or in the form of the worm that ate it. And that is a perfect arrangement of things.

Maybe nothing ceases to exist, but googles upon googles of things die every single day. I don't know about you but when i die i'm no longer me.

I don't think that's important. You and me - our only natural function in this universe is to percieve it, everything else is just egoistic whims.
Nothing good or bad happens when something dies, there are no such categories in nature. Besides, without death there would be no life and no more progress and evolution of life.

    you misunderstood.
if i lived forever what about everybody else?
and if everyboy lived forever then society is dead.

i retract my statement "i am not greedy"
lets just say i would be concerned about society as i know it.

Of course. What do you think I am, some kind of retarded dumbshit?
Now, what to do? Exploit it. Since I'd live forever, I can't die, so I can kill without conseqence. I'd take out all of my enemies, fuck a lot of women, and become rich as hell by any means possible.
