This is intended to remain a political thread, expressing what you think about laying out a modicum of personal jeopardy in the cause of freedom. That's right.

What do you thing about controls on what you say and write in public. Honestly.

In other threads we have discussed that our Homeland SecurityCorp has been increasingly listening and looking for keywords (automated spiders) followed by analysts who continue screening you and I for suspicious communications.

AKA Thought Crime. My criminal thought for today is that we speak dirty to the spiders, and frankly to the invisible analysts, while also commenting on how we feel about this potentially happening as you post. Step into the twilight world with me and wax bombushtic.

IMO this can remain a poilitical and not cesspool thread even if it provokes anti-government or even anti free-speech vitriol, for discussions like "if I were a terrist, I would say or do the following in order to completely freak out America ...".

Now where were the spiders? Oh yes. Bomb Qaeda Allah Jihad Mosque Shawerma Revolution Freedom Libert Equality Fraternity Baguette War Peace Love Shit Damn Piss Hell

    Shukran wa salaam.

i have decided to answer this but i don't know how.
the key word here is public. although i believe in freedom of speech/press we must conform to the public good. ideas should be freely expressed. to be honest the question is out of my league.

I would like to just drop him off in Sadr City, with a Shia-Iraqi reality-TV crew following the action live broadcast world wide. Thrills. Chills. Eeeew.

I was wondering about how the terr'ists could do a followup to 9-11 without a nuke. It's really tough, when you think about it, to find a sufficient concentration of people in a vulnerable place. Like the WTC was. Any attack that doesn't measure up is just going to be a squib politically. The bad guys have really set themselves a high bar.

Then I was surfing some sites on ship travel, and got to looking at the specs - and voila - here you have a ship like the Princess Whatever or the Carnivore Cruise Line, with 2800 fat, dumb & happy infidel and a thousand crew. They are a couple hundred miles out to sea - what a target. Ol' Osama organizes a half a dozen Zodiacs, a trawler, and a hijacked gasoline tanker. Add a pile of heavy weapons and an attack boat a la USS Cole, and you have the makings of a real massacre. Stop the cruise line with a medium sized bang, then ram it with the tanker. The jihadi in the other boats stop anybody from launching lifeboats and spreads general mayhem until she rolls over. Do it at night and no air cover is going to make any difference.

Even easier and scarier is when the bad guys get a few Exocet missiles. The Argentines took out the Sheffield in the Falklands War and the warhead didn't even go off! Imagine a couple of those 15 foot missiles going Mach 3 about ten feet off the water - that'll spill your consomme. For that matter, they could put a hurtin' on an LNG tanker. The homeland security guys make a big deal about escorting the tankers into port, with the idea that Mohammed is going to try to drop a grenade off a bridge or something. If you know where the tanker is going to be at a certain time, then I imagine the Exocet could be there too.

I suppose that to do this right, we ought to get connected with people in Oman or Saudi or Syria, and make the right noises on the phone to them.

Other than that, it's hard to imagine how to make seditious enough statements here in-country to draw the kind of attention you want. Perhaps you could give us an example?

Because this is an automated process, maybe we could gain the cooperation of the host of this board to provide a meter tracking spider activity, that we could compare with the posts. Then we can play with the automation for a period of time until it is likely some hapless NSA analyst is brought here. Then we eat his or her brain.

As to the IP tracking, it should be possible to use foreign hosts to send a post here from any IP address anywhere.

True. Yet still, we can disrupt, even educate these tax-paid overautomated overfunded websurfing toads. Get a life- This is still a free country.

    Right?

    OK let me begin again:

    1. Decide how to attract the attention of the NSA.
    2. Badger them in the blind (justice can be).
    3. Speculate. Contribute to the beating back of a nascient police state. Or be declared an extra-special enemy combattant rendered detainee. Or just be a big fat chicken and shrink away from taunting the ridiculous spooks among us.

I was briefly a spook, with an assigned need to know (monitoring Soviets in another age). I still need to know: Wussup?

like you mentioned in your op their are certain keywords and phrases the spiders sniff for and i don't know what they are.

the phrases/words must be something the ordinary person wouldn't say if they weren't terrorists

An old, seemingly defunct (interesting as well?) but intriguing project.

"The Echelon system works on a very sophisticated system of word relationships, rather than strictly on keywords," said Davies. "Powerful artificial intelligence software is used to judge the relationship between words, and analyse strings of words."

In other words, to be effective we have to think bad thoughts and convey them.
