Well, it's a small world! Errmm, I thought the original poll tax was back in the 14th century or so, and caused similar riots until it was abandoned a few years after it was introduced. Oh look, you say that much anyway. So why claim you invented it? Anyway, interesting to note people here from my old university as well. Anway, Id cards rent a poll tax, they are a means of identifying the inhabitants of the country so that either they can collect the benefits to which they are entitled, or else be picked out of the herd for being different.
