I want to comprehend a little more the physics behind the Wolf effect. Apparently, this effect discovered by Wolf in 1986, can shift the spectral lines of quasars without the need for a receding motion of the source. And is an effect that apparently can only be observed in non-lambertian sources. Can it explain some apparent discordances (e.g. some quasars apparently connected with objects having a dissimilar redshift)?
