Is 'political correctness' just an excuse? An excuse not to hold an opinion? An excuse to not piss people off for being yourself? Is this what politics has come to no-one holding a real opinion of there own?

    Any Thoughts On The Matter?

Say it like it is. Don't be worried about if you are correct or not because you can say what you mean even if some are hurt by what you say. This nonsense about political correctness is stupid IMO and should be done away with.

Political correctness is the tendency for members of a majority to think they can correct ancient injustices by completely distancing themselves from any offensive language. It always goes ridiculously far and demonstrates the complete lack of real identity between the majority and the minority.

Political correctness doesn't prevent anybody from having an opinion. It prevents some people from expressing their opinions.

Political correctness sacrifices truth for emotion.

PC is stupid. It is actually going against the first amendment- i.e, the right to express one's self freely and peacibly.

My history teacher in high school told me that "PC" was a little joke created by liberals and then taken seriously and to a new level by conservatives. Not sure if it's true, but coming from a socialist it was awesome.

Pollitical correctness is just an example of human escapism. People take the realization that there is conflict and discord and everything ugly in the world and throw it out the window. It is like a small child putting his head under the covers to stay safe from the boogeyman. Out of sight, out of mind.

We would have been better off pushing the advantages of good manners. PC is politeness taken a euphemism too far. In a society where good manners are the norm political correctness would be irrelevant.

My position on the matter is that niggers and gooks and towel heads all deserve respect and compassion.
If someone likes to eat dog or washes his hair….never, making him stink of sweat and feces is their prerogative.
They should not have to suffer the prejudices of those that value cleanliness and intelligence. It’s not their fault they were born black or oriental.

My conscience tells me to treat niggers just as if they were human beings.

There's a difference of saying what you feel about someone rather than just saying things to get them upset at your stupidity.

    What?

Why can't you state in a paragraph why you don't like blacks instead of just calling them a very derogatory name showing only your bigotry of them to others? Seems that you can't come up with reasons to hate them only that you do. Can you understand me better now?

How many showers/washes/whatever an average Joe had 100 years ago? I thought so

. Funny thing you are taking pride in corporation created cult of showering, smelling good, etc. Showering twice daily does not make you more human or even more healthy compared to backwards who take a bath each week and who are less disgusted with each other's "products of being alive".

If somebody will insult my "cultural things" I will take no offence as long as I don't think (even subconciously) that somebody is at least partially correct. As long as I don't feel that my (self) opinion is inferior to that of an insult thrower, I could not care less. just shrug imbecile off and get on with your life. Life will show who is who. Well, if words are touching open nerves that is when one is getting insulted. Image in the human mirror is not always pleasant.

Political Correctness is the far left telling the rest of us what they deem to be correct, and until mankind gets of its fat arse and says bog off, it will continue to get worse and worse like a virilently malignant cancer.

    1. In todays tabloids in the UK, Firemen were given a roasting by a Fire Chief during an inspection as they had placed a 3 inch by 2.5 inch sticker on the rear of the vehicle. He then removed it with the threat of disciplinary action. The offending item, a cross of St George, England's FLAG! It will offend people was the excuse.

    2. Prison Officers have been told that tie pins with the ENGLAND flag on are not to be worn when on duty as it may offend criminals.

GET REAL!!! In instance No 1 - muslims etc in this country are NOT offended by signs of "nationalism" as one of them said, this is England!
