Has anyone else noticed that Phobos looks like a derelict Deathstar from StarWars? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! No really, it's no moon, it's a space station!! :m: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Here, compare! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Yes, the rest are blind!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! We need to send there a salvaging expedition asap!
I have a spaceship, if you want it. It's controlled by Stinky, my magical flying pig... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I have a suspicion we are not taking me seriously. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Mimas also looks like a Death star, but not derelict http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn6999 Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I'd love to live there. Imagine running arround going "yay" and being able to run around the whole rock in a few hours...
First reference to the Death Star perhaps, but: "March 1960 - The Martian moon Phobos, generally accepted as a celestial body, actually may be an artificial satellite launched long ago by an advanced Martian race, according to Dr. S. Fred Singer, special advisor to President Eisenhower on space developments. No mention was made of the other Mars moon, Deimos. In his published opinion, Dr. Singer backed a claim first made by the Soviet astrophysicist Shklovsky. The Russian scientist's announcement that Phobos was a hollow, artificial satellite, proving the existence of a Martian civilization, set off heated arguments among astronomers. Shklovsky based his decision on a long study of Phobos' peculiar orbit, which other astronomers have noted. The Russian claim has calculations and those of earlier astronomers prove Phobos cannot possibly be an ordinary moon." From: http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/mars_moon_phobos_artificial.htm It is now believed that the orbital peculiarities (it is in an unstable orbit and will crash on Mars within the next forty million years) are because it is a captured asteroid.
If we explode a nuclear bomb somewhere in the world then i suppose Earth would look somewhat similar to the deathstar as well Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It would not. 1. No nuclear bomb or fugas that we've made is capable of creating such a hole in proportion to Earth's size. 2. If such a big hole were made on Earth, then magma would fill it (as it happened ~250million years ago at a place called Siberian Traps), i.e., there would be no crater.
Maybe we can salvage the station and together build a new Empire and we will rule the empty wastes of mars with an iron fist, I will let you be the emperor if you like!
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Is it just me or does the Omidus asteroid look like the death star... hmm really does
