I would have put this in a String Theory section if there was one but there wasn't so I thought here was the most relevant.

What do people think about the existance of Fuzzballs, there was a very good article about them in this weeks copy of "New Scientist".

    Any Thoughts?

    Hum,
haven’t read the article, but i like the theory.
    It solves the `information` problem.
It makes sense that black holes are not smooth, featureless entities; and interestingly the combined ball of strings turns out to be very stretchy, and `expands` to a wide diameter. i believe that the derived formula for the diameter of a fuzzy black hole made of strings is found to match the diameter of the black hole event horizon suggested by the classical model.
But did the article also mention the other equally interesting alternatives?
i know of a few like the gravistar theory that also fit with what we observe. etc...
