Hum, it must be old news, now... Unless it`s about the upcoming Quadrantids Meteor Shower, that peaks around 12h20m UT on January 3. (<i>It is active from January 1 through January 5.</i> ) <b>OR</b> A new image of the galaxy NGC 6946 obtained at Gemini North telescope. (The "Fireworks Galaxy" NGC 6946 lies 10 - 20 million light-years away, and straddles the border between the constellations of Cepheus and Cygnus. Eight supernovae have exploded in the arms of this galaxy, which makes NGC 6946 the most prolific known galaxy for supernovae during the past 100 years.) <b>BUT</b> perhaps its the Cassini spacecraft`s close flyby of Iapetus on New Year's Eve at 0130GMT. ??? OR not...
