Ah?

    Im trying too take screen captures from a dvd, i press "print screen" then "paste" in paint but all that comes up is a black screen....

    It's because the Dvd player sends to the overlay and not to the screen itself. You either have to use a screen capture function from within the dvd software itself or some third party overlay capture software (if there is such a thing.)

    Shame I was gonna suggest stopping it so that there wouldnt be any delay between one frame and the next which is why you get the black screen. Actually Pausing it will hold a frame in a loop so that isnt really stopped either.

    Do you know of any free software that could do this?, as one of the main reasons i bought the dvd was to take captures for a forum signature etc

    try and find a frame capture program, maybe "TMPGEnc" can do it

    ye3.. just try using google. I think mpc v6.4.8.2 can capture dvd

    Thanks for the reply's, it turns out all i had to do was press "P" on my existing DVD software.
