Hello Dave and everyone else. I am a long time user of acq and i haven't posted in a while! My friend is getting an ipod mini in the next week, and he wants to download music for free without the spyware and crap that kazaa has, and he wants fast and quick downloads. I'd suggest to him to use acq, but it's only for mac! Anybody here know of any great p2p file sharing software for windows. He has millenium version of windows.

    Thanks Pals,

    Harrison

Download one that I have been using lately: Ares.

It's a Kazaa Lite Knowckoff that doesn't transfer viruses, I also find it to be quicker and more reliable. I also think it's the best for downloading music videos.

BitTornado (one of the torrent family clients, multi os versions), Emule an DC++ are the best imho
and I have quite an experience with most such progs

kazaa and its entire network really sucks

I don't care about songs. I only use BitSpirit (bit torrent client) and edonkey2000.

Gnucleus is the best Windows P2P client. Open-source, free and no spyware or bloat like Bearshare.

If you're looking for large video or film files, BitTorrent is your best bet. It requires a lot more research on your end, however.
