    Now then boys and girls..
    the long awaited Blue Ray compared to this one is like a 1.44 diskette psichologically compared to a DVD!
    That is 1TB on a cd sized medium.
    this is a shock, unbeliavable and it makes me go extasic.. like future is here, like I've seen a god..

    1.44mb -> 700mb -> ~4000 mb -> 25000mb (unreleased blue ray-> 50gb dual layered) -> 1048576 MB

    The problem is you buy one and you do not need to buy another one again....I don't see this product going public. 1tb?...most people do not have need for something even 1/4 that size.

    meh....i see stories about these types of mass storage mediums all the time...i saw a 100 TB disc before, all kinds of blue laser type storage devices....i wont get excited till i can actually buy one...its like looking at a concept car magazine...u get all excited about these new kinds of technologies, but when will they actually come into use?

    At this point, it will be deadly expensive and I don't know that compatible hardware will be any less cheaper initially.

    Will probably be available mostly to gov'ts.

    1 TB? Sweet, my hard drive is getting full even when I burn some things on DVD. Me wants to have some of those things.

    1024GB? If it's rewritable media like Floppy/HD, I'll consider it

    1024Gb? that is not so much is it? You can't even copy your DVD collection to it if your collection is a bit extensive.

    Well, a rewritable 1TB disc with a transfer speed of 1GB per second would be interesting. Depending on the technology involved, you could well use it as a kind of harddrive.

    I've heard of these mass storage discs for years now. All it makes me think of is that I will soon need to get a new drive for one of these discs and that means more $$$.

    Let's jump ahead to DNA storage (I think the article I saw as posted here).
