I installed Cadkey 98 on my computer a few years ago and entered the serial number and license key during installation. I need to re-install on my new computer but I lost those numbers. The serial number is displayed in the “About Cadkey” window but the license key is not. Where (which file) should I look for? Please tell me it’s not encrypted.

The key is more than likely stored in the REGKEY's, so your best opening up REGEDIT and doing a search for Cadkey or the Company/author and take a copy of all REGKEY's related to it (you might even want to look through the registry entries yourself to see if you can spot it).

I doubt that program utilised another method of storing the Serial, unless it actually altered the Binary at time of the code being inserted. (Which is very unlikely)

    Hope that aids you.

the key is proberly highly encrypted, i douth you can get it from the reg. db. or even files without a lot of work.
