1988, just after Bush snr gets into office, the Bharain royal family awards a huge off shore drilling contract to a little know US company called Harken.
That such a huge and complex off shore contract should go to a little company with no track record in off shore drilling is without precedence. How did Harken get the contract over the big boys such as Ameco and Exxon etc?

Records show that Harken Bahrain was paid at least $2 million by 1993 for its Bahrain operation, which never did strike oil.
