In preparation for exploration of Europia testing is proceeding on a camera in the Antarctica. Going down more than 3900 feet below the Antarctica ice sheet the camera is lowered into a premelted hole. It will later be mounted on a robotic device so it is at present in its early stages of testing. JPL is at present testing the camera in extreme enviroments. The early version of the cryobot is expected to be tested in the Yukon later in the summer this year.

Finally we're not focussing all of our efforts towards the possiblity of life on mars! After all, what your looking for is always in the most awkward places. Europa is an interesting place. I can't wait to see some pictures from under the ice.
