I am curious ... Has anybody done a study on what types of idiots, sorry people, sign up for this type of reality (sic) tv show?

I say we replace this kind of show with old-style gladiators. We put a few million bucks on the table, get volunteers to sign a waver, and get the contestants to fight to the death. There is sure to be enough nuts out there who would be willing and after each match you would have one psycho instead of two. And no, I see no ethical problems with this.
