Prove your reading mettle (http://www.readingsoft.com/index.html)

I got a measely 328 WPM at 73% comprehension.....pretty ok for a student that does little to no reading in college.

Well, reading that text, which had a fairly easy language, I did 150 wpm (I was listening to music in a different language simultaneously :p ), and my comprehension level was 91%, however those questions could have been answered using logic instead of that text. The questions were mainly on memorization certain data and phrases from the text, not necessarily comprehension. In conclusion, I have to add that the thing was created to advertise the product, nothing more nothing less.

370 and 100% comprehension, I had bolt thrower blasting in the background so I had a hard time concentrating and had to read a few sentences twice.

When I'm reading books for pleasure I normaly read slowly, and go back to read whole chapters again when I start daydreaming. I hate it when that happens, you're reading about a boring trip when you suddenly daze off and the next thing you know the main character is dead and somebody just raped the wizard.

I like to enjoy what I read. I like to take time to relax when I read. I'm not trying to see how fast I can do anything, only trying to enjoy what the author is trying to say. I take a long, long time to read a book, but that is a way I get my enjoyment from them.

361 WPM and 81% comprehension. The comprehension is probably worse, I guessed on most of the questions:confused:

If anyone has some speed reading software or books to recommend, I'd be most interested. Through most of elementary school I read faster than a great deal of the people I knew, mostly because I was very competitive early on in English class (I'm talking first grade). Now it seems that I'm just average, if anything.

I have the speed reading book in PDF form, if anyone wants it, I will give it to them, send me a pm, or talk to me on aim.

I had basically the same score as Sarge!

But I do tend to read slowly so I fully understand what I read.

I think if I read like this test wants you to read all the time I'd get a headache and my eyes would dry out!:D

Thats cool.

The only person I know that might score that high is my uncle.

He reads ALOT of books at the library and owns many books himself.

I also own a good stack of books and am still reading some of them.

Congrates again on the 926 wpm!:)

319 wpm, 100%
though in real life I'd rather say 80%, because I often read so fast that I miss many details

272 at 100%. i'm a slow careful reader. i read fiction as slow as molasses because i often stop and go over passages to make sure i've taken in any hidden meaning and symbolism.

thats not a test its more like a quiz one might find in "Teen Beat" or "popular Science for Kids" at best. according to the site, i read 568 wpm and have a 91% comprehension rate. Ya right, high school wouldn't have sucked nearly as bad as it did if that were the case.

As some others mentioned, most of the questions to test comprehension are either obvious or fairly easy to guess.

I suppose its an good diversion tho, just really doesn't tell you anything.

At least the bonus question was interesting, really goes to the heart of the creators motivations i think.
