The point of impact of the object on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico 65 million years ago can be observed from space. Can anyone tell me where I can find more info on this?

From what I understand it's not really too discernable from orbit but there have been gravity-anomoly readings that have shown a pretty large "rin-like" structure in the Calexico region.

The impact cater was discovered while trying to determine where the fault lines lay so as to determine where the cavities of oil were.

Also it is now known that the Chesapeake Bay was formed from a deep impact. This was determined when looking for fresh water to support the population of the area. It seems that a few hundred feet made a lot of difference when drill for water. Once again seismic studies for oil determined that there had been a meteor impact several 1000’s of feet deep. The ocean refilled the hole after the impact and then the local river started depositing silt back into the hole. As it did so it buried a salt ring around the crater and widened the impact hole. When drilling for water it was noticed that those few hundred feet made all the difference in the world as to what was gotten back, fresh water or salt water.
