This may be an odd place to ask this, but believe it or not, it is the most appropriate forum I am a meber of to ask it, so here it goes: I am thinking of buying a classic Lincoln Continental Convertible. (1961 - 1965) (you know, that bad ass suicide door Lincoln that JFK was shot in? the car they drove in The Matrix.) I have had my heart set on a '64 since I was a kid. (on a side note, 1964 was the ULTIMATE year for cars!!) I don't just want to get one based on sentiment though. I know the Continental didn't change much (body, anyway) from 1961 through 1965 other than some minor grille and rear light configuration changes (the '60 still looked like an old winged clumsy submarine, and the '66 ushered in the era of the long square Lincolns and Caddys of the '70's). I want to know more about the changes from '61 to '65. I have been looking for a good web site that chronicles the changes that were made from year to year, but I have had no luck so far. Can anyone here help me out a bit? Thanks.
when i went car shopping, i went here. http://www.edmunds.com/ of course, i looked at modern cars and ended up buying a 95 camry... your 60ish lincolns may be way too old, i haven't taken the time to look. :bugeye: even so, maybe you can find a forum on edmunds for that kind of stuff, or an appropriate place to ask your questions..... i'm surprised there's not a classic car site out there with your info... anyways, even if i didn't help one bit, i sure did try. There is a site I always use to shop for classics: http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/ But it didn't help me much. Luckily a friend of mine just gave me this link: http://www.lincoln-club.org/sketch6.html That was very helpful. Now I just need to find out what changed from '64 to '65. Thanks a million for your effort.
