In a craving for something new, I'm dedicating this thread to recommendations. Anything really, books, movies, songs, video games; anything that you like that needs some attention, something that was missrepresented, under marketed, or just that damn good. Just include the style for reference.

To start off: Books - Eclipse by John Shirley; a series that I love that I've never met anyone else whose heard of it.
Bands - Llama; Too Much Too Soon made some movies, Close to the Silence is just plain awsome.
Movies - Good Burger, The Great Race, Wagons East <-goofy as hell, I love em; Shawshank Redemption cause it's just that good

I'll be back with some more later if I think of any

read the pheonix guards and 500 years after first, then do the series, 10 books in all, I don't think you will be disappointed. actually I'm not sure which is best to do, I read the series first and then the other 2 so it's up to you.

watership down, coming of age in mississippi, nectar in a sieve, and nervous conditions are pretty good fiction. the politics of women's biology is nerdy academia if you're a nerd like me. aaah political beach reading.

Since its summer, I would like to recommend any kind of relaxation, pleasure or intoxication.
Read Seat of the soul by Gary Zukav, on the beach or in the grass. It's forbidden to read indoors. Or Seth speaks by Jane Roberts, or anything else by her.
If it rains really hard and you must go inside then watch Big Lebowski, Harold and Maude or have a Star Wars odyssé.
Or, make music! Get an instrument of any kind and play, forget notes, use your own senses. Sing! I really recommend that, there's nothing as liberating, imo as singing.
    Fill the freezer with icecream.
    Learn diving.
    Paint.
    Fall in love.

There's two things you must do to get through life, dance to the music in your head and sing in the shower.

I prefer on stage, the neighbours are already a bit annoyed by my vocal excursions, so I will leave the shower audio-alone.

Spuriousmonkey, I refuse to believe that, just put on your nicest monkeysuit and get out.
