Some people get peircings, others tattoos - some small, some large, some blah blah blah. We all know the crazy sort of things that people do, including body mutalations, scarifications, and etc... Burning, and marking.
The reasons - some for fun, some just because. Remember the sissy test? Why do people do this?
And, what is the final result?
I got plenty of tatts,im currently getting my right arm totally sleeved, top half needs some work.
WHY? cos i fucking love them
Im following that theme all the way round the arm, theres stuff i gotta get finished like, the inside, the flames need filling in,and the background shading/purple needs to go in aswell,
attached is the inside which is what mainly needs to be finnished along with the top

Why not?
I just wish I could afford to finish sleeving my upper arms:D
It can be damned expensive:mad:
Its not that expensive, over here in the uk,generally sleeving is classed as custom and is about £50-60 an hour, youll be surprised how much can be done in just a couple of hours when it comes to sleeves, lets say your upper arm is blank, there may be 4 desighns 2 hours each and sleeving at 5 hours, thats 13 hours
13x£60=£780.
Thats good, and you can have it done over some months worth of appointments, many of the appointments worked out at £100 each but with 2 weeks or even 3 months between.
It does take awhile, but its worth it.
Although bare in mind that £1000 worth of tattooing can cost £20,000 to remove and 3 times more painful so choose carefully.

In Australia it's about $80-120, although I haven't checked it out for a few years. Being unemployed & having a family to worry about it's hard to justify that sort of money.
Maybe I should do it myself:bugeye:

I couldn't agree more, having made bad tattoo choices some 13 years ago or so, I know what it's like living with ugly mistakes:mad:
Choose your tats very, very, very carefully!!!!

Yeah its cheaper to do it yourself, although i was teaching myself how to tattoo with proper equipment once and now i got the top of my legs covered in shit!!,suffice to say i did get quiet good at tattooing towards the 10th attempt but gave it up thankfully before butchering friends or anyone that would go near me.

Yup, I haven't tried on myself yet because I don't want anymore mistakes. And if I do go ahead & do it myself I'll go with more traditional methods & designs....hmmm, I need to do some research.

No you dont,if you wanna be a tattooist you go and get an apprentiship from a tattooist, youll only end up fucking yourself up,
everyone who buys or thinks of buying equipment/being a tattooist thinks he/she can do it YOU CANT it takes great skill, artistic ability and most of all someone to guide you.
Im telling you this for your own good, cos i know what im talking about.

On what grounds do you assert that tattooing == mutilation? Is painting the mutilation of canvas?

Doom-
Why did you get the particular tats that you have? Any reasons or just liked the look of them?
i heard somewere that in the dye there is a nicotine like substance that makes some people come back for more?
did any one else here that?

I heard (from a person who had his nipples etc pierced) that piercing anywhere below the neck is highly unwanted, uncomfortable, especially when in water, and so on. Also, Ive seen older people who used to have earrings and now have skin threads on their ears.
I think around the age of 14 or 15 I got into the whole self-mutilation thing. I've given myself a few jailhouse tats, that most people would regret. I've got KDC (kurt cobain's initials), 4:20, and a sideways cross, which to me, was just expressing my ideas towards athiesm. I've got a bunch of marks where i'm guessing I started to ink myself, and realized that it was uneven or not in a good spot. If it wasn't a new fucked up ink job, it was dyed hair or piercings. I've got my tongue pierced, my eyebrow, and both my ears...which i've all done by myself over a period of time. I had my nipples pierced at one point (dont ever try this yourself, it hurts like a MOTHER FUCKER!) but they ended up getting ripped out after I landed face first skateboarding. I remember we used to play 'chickin' with cigarettes...and both people would hold cigarettes to the others forearm, and whoever gave up first gave up his pack of smokes. I dont neccesarely know if I just have a thing for pain, or maybe it's because I have a low selfesteem. I'll donate blood just for the little adrenaline rush you get before they jam that needle in your arm. You know in your head that it doesn't hurt, but you still cant help but be nervous. I think I was just an angry child growing up, or I had a lack of attention or something, because i've always been finding destructive ways to express myself...for example the tattoos, and i've also been writing graffiti for a fews years. graffiti has always been graffiti to me, i dont really consider it an artform, its more of like a billboard to me...it lets me express myself to a community that i could never communicate with, unless i didnt paint it right in front of there face on a wall.
