Well, I’d like to start by saying that this will be the last of the Friday Night sermons to be posted in print fashion. Starting this coming Friday, we’ll all benefit from the use of an audio format that is compliant with both older audio devices and win amp. Praise God that we’ll be able to better cover our material and I’ll be able to make better use of my time in bringing it to you. I’m sure that it will be nice to be able to run the FNS in the background and just listen, as you are able to do other things at the same time.
Getting right into it, we left off covering the fact that the Christian and the Jew are of the same Body. Now, I know that this may be a bit hard for some to comprehend. We just saw, in the very last verse of Chapter 2, that, it’s not a matter of outward circumcision, it’s a matter of the inward. It’s a matter of weather or not we are separated and marked as being one of God’s own. Well, that mark is the mark of the Lord Jesus Christ. When we stand in front of the Father to be judged, we will already have been separated into the better of two divisions. The other division is that of those that Jesus does not vouch for. Ours is the division that Jesus does vouch for. In both divisions you will have Jew and gentile. Nationality and bloodlines of man matter not to God. It’s His own bloodline that He will honor. Either you come, having been incorporated into the bloodline that is His own, or you are not recognized as being one of His own. That’s it!!! There is no other division. God is only looking to see weather His Son (which is a matter of position for our understanding and not of power or a sing that Jesus was created after or by the Father), Jesus, has vouched for you. In fact, It’s quite easy to see because, we’ll be the only ones all charged up with His Holy spirit. Now, I know that it’s a touch of a waver off of the point, still, ask yourself. How easy is it for God to see your mark of salvation way out in the distance and shoved into the crowd? Do you stick out like a sore thumb? Should God have any question weather or not you are one of His? Do you deeds show forth as the deed of one of His all the time? How about when no one is looking? Do the then? Now, we all know that God is not going to have a problem finding us out. However, what if He happens to direct a lost soul your way? Will that lost soul be able to recognize you in the authority of God by your actions? How about, by your style of dress? What of the music you listen to? Can that lost soul find you out by the words that come out of your mouth when he’s peeking at you around the corner looking at you when you don’t know that anyone is there? Will that lost soul be able to see the difference that God has made in your life in the recreation room when you’re the one with the remote control? Do you run straight to filth? If you do then, let me tell you something. By the way, I hope I am meddling into your private life. The Bible tells us again and again, like in Proverbs 16, “For their feet run to evil,”, that those that run quickly to do evil are not of God. We are not to go with them at all!!!!!!! If you call yourself a Christian, I’m warning you that you’d better check you foundation and make sure that you are standing upon what you think that you’re standing on! Don’t let God have to come and correct you! Do you not know that we are always to check everything by God’s standard that is His Word?!?!?!. Now, if that’s too hard for you then, just leave. Walk away from God. Go ahead. You tell Him that ISDAMan said that it’s o.k.. You know what, that might sound stupid, but, anyone that is not willing to live the life that God has given them to such an extent is not working with any better logic. All you’re saying is, “God, I know this television program, this bar, this video store, this party, this place of employment, this false church, this CD, this video game is full of sin but, I still say that I can handle it. I still say that I know what I am doing. I still sat that I can be a witness of you by participating in the pastimes of others thought they be sin. I will put aside your knowledge and use the knowledge I have gathered to myself. I know what I am doing and You can’t tell me any different. Oh, and by the way, God, I’m right!” That’s the kind of stupid logic we use when we boil it down. We must judge all things that we are involved in by the standard of God,… By His Living Word! No, we do not live in a totally clean world. Still, that’s no excuse to go swimming around in a cesspool. We are the light of the World. We are to make it so that those in darkness can see what is good for them. We, just as light, must be in the midst of darkness, and separated from darkness all at the same time. We are the salt of the World. We are to be a healing agent to those that are wounded by sin. We are to be a preservative to other Christians and to the world in that we hold sin at bay. We are also to be a seasoning. The flavor we add to the world should always be a good one. Now, look and see if you deeds can stand up to that. Look and see if even the things you never thought were all that important are true to being salt and light. Or, are they just actions that cast more darkness into the world and cause greater stumbling. Are your words edifying? Are your deeds salt and light? Lastly, the greatest of all, would it be right in the eyes of God because of charity? That is to say, do you do it because of the Love of God? God’s love has no dark spots and no time for Jerry Springer, Howard Stern, the E channel, Playboy, drunkenness, gossip, greed, pre-marital sex or any other evil thing. No!!! You are not permitted to have at least one old sin as a security blanket! God has given us to put on the NEW MAN!!!!!! If you miss the nice feelings of your old sins, get over it and start to remember the heartache that always followed. The fact is that this is all an obvious mark of being of the Body of Christ and not being such. Be ye Jew or gentile, if you confess that Jesus (the real Jesus) is Lord, then you are of God and of the Body of Christ. There is no other way and there is no separation between us. Let me also add that it doesn’t matter that we are not used to the customs of our brethren if they are customs that are not contrary to God. We need to accept one another as being member of the same Body. There is hardly a scarce reason that we should push one of our own away. Though the members of a body, right down to the tiny cells, act with different customs, none are designed to work apart from the body. None are love wolves. None can survive apart from the Body. Though we will get more into this later, you need to see the obvious need for each and every member of the Body to accept and nurture the others. This cannot be accomplished if we try to pull away from or push others away from the Body that is Christ. There is no exception.
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Now, let’s pause the scriptures here. It’s obvious that being of the same body, if one profits or looses the same is true for all though it will show more in one place or another. Still, we are all impacted. The Jew is neither placed above or below the gentile. Again, it is inward circumcision. There is only one way to be correct with God. You either are or you are not. If we are, then, we are of the same Body. Know this. Remember this. Hold true to this when you deal with other Christians. Remember, this person that you are dealing with, if he is of Christ, is part of the Body and comes packing the punch of the Full authority of God. With you also being of the same Body with the same Holy Spirit of God and with the same authority of God, can only greatly add to goodness when you behave accordingly in acceptance of the other, which is your Brother or Sister in Christ. There is no exclusion! Even though the person be strange,… even if you don’t like his customs,… even if you find imperfection, you are not to reject. In stead, just as our Father would any of us, we are to embrace and be of comfort and help to that member. We are iron sharpening iron. Let our sins be obliterated as we gather ourselves together in one focus which is the Good Will of the Lord!!!! Beloved, remember this always. You are not to be the end user of the grace that God has given you. You are a middleman. You are a distribution center. In that you deal in the ways of grace, you will reap the rewards of grace in living and in judgement, so too, in that you deal in the ways of the world, you will reap the rewards of the world in living and in judgement. We all know where that’s going to end up. Though Hell is not for the child of Christ, you will suffer pain and loss if you stray outside of the supply lines of God’s grace. None of us are righteous of our own power. Do not make the same mistake that Satan made in that He began to think highly of himself. Beloved, stand out in the center currents of God’s grace. Do not even settle for being along the edge. To be on the edge is to place youself danger close to the things that we see it the next few verses.
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
Their feet are swift to shed blood:
Destruction and misery are in their ways:
And the way of peace have they not known:
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Now, all the rest is quite clear. The letter of the law is not what we follow. The law has one function. It is exists to point out sin. It is a marker. It makes it easy for man to see what his relation to God should be like. It’s a user-friendly interface from the Almighty Himself. Still, it’s just an interface. There must be a tie in behind the interface. That tie in is Jesus. This we know and understand as being believers in Christ. Through the law, we could see what God wanted for us. Once Jesus bridged the gap,... made a closed circuit between God and man, there was finally a way to experience the fullness of God’s plan in our lives. We did nothing. We can do nothing. The power is on because of God’s grace shown in Jesus Christ. We’re not even the ones to plus ourselves into it. God comes and does that for us. How many toaster ovens do you know that can plug themselves into their power source? Well, neither can we. Still, it boggles the mind that He is so loving as to allow us to choose weather or not we will be plugged in. we each had faith that He would plug us in. Let us, in like manner, have faith that He will continue in powering us for the journey. Let us seek only Him and not the World. Let us be correct in our relationship to God from the foundation up. Let us stand out in the middle of His current flow and be drenched in His power.
That’s all for now kiddies. I wish I could be more in depth. I thank God that He has been so good and that He uses even a man formerly stained of sin such as myself. I look forward to the next session. I can’t wait for the audio. Praise God!!!!!!!!
