Well, given some of their bellicosity and bluster on the issue, I'd say you're right. Hopefully these overtures will lead somewhere.
Finally.... a little progress in the world without the need for mass bloodshed. Hope it turns out well but what do you want to bet each side will keep at least one nuke for just in case?
most definitley these are positive developments. but india has to approach pakistan with caution. many members of the indian govt. are suspicious of pakistan considering it's track record. not suprising really considering the fact that when the indian PM visited pakistan on a goodwill trip in 1999, the general of the pakistan army was plotting the insurgency into kargil, which took place a few months later. and who was that general?---none other than the self-titled pakistani president pervez mussharaf. ahh...the irony of it all.
India does have to watch it, but Musharraf knows he has to watch it to. He's in a very different situation now than he was in '99.
