Hello la monkees

This question is based on assuming that christianity is right, and there is a heaven and hell that we go to when we die, and people who have accepted Jesus into there lifes as their saviour go to heaven, and people who dont go to hell.

I was wondering, if we have parents and friends on earth, who dont accept christ and there fore go to hell, how are we supposed to be truely happy in heaven as it says we will be in the bible?

Im pretty sure, that if im in heaven, but have close friends/family who didnt make it, then I dont see how i can be completely happy

That is a good question. I think though
it would depend on what your outlook on
hell is. Meaning, for me, I do not believe
it is for eternity... I still believe
there is a chance to get it right..EVEN
when one goes to hell.

Yep thats what i had thought of as most likely :)

there must be pretty shamblee people who still stay in hell refusing to believe in it all :)

also that leads me onto another serious question

if satan accepts christ, will he go to heaven?

hahaha..well... LMAO.. I have no bloody
clue!! :)
I do not think that he would ever accept
christ... ya know?
Ok, I've got a question for you.
Do you think one can sin in heaven? Think
about it... when Satan was Lucifer..he did.

mmmmm, good question monkee

well first thoughts are that maybe there isnt anything in heaven that we can do that is a sin

maybe lieing doesnt exist etc.

ummmm second thoughts.....

It says in the bible that God never puts us in a situation where temptation is too powerful for us NOT to sin, although obviously we all shambles and do.

Maybe in heaven there is no temptation, and therefore no need to sin

I might think of a third, but my mind works s-l-o-w :)

dont worry about the monkee thing, and note its monkee not monkey

its just that im a shambles :)

good point about satan, why didnt i notice it before

what i do have to say is that, satan was originally an angel (I think im correct in saying that). In which* case the rules for angels are different than that for us

we are special :)

* that should say 'in any case'

I'm not sure how much help this is, but between Lutheran, Catholic, and a few other assorted Houses of Christ, it seems that such considerations as family and friendship disappear in the presence of the Holy Host.

I recall an episode of "The Simpsons" in which a Sunday school class kept asking their teacher about admittance to heaven: My dog? My cat? An amputated leg? A laboratory-engineered monkey-man ....

Before we can answer the question of friends and family in heaven, I think a couple of other questions deserve consideration:

* Are such ties as family, friendship, and other social designations mere worldly segregations or do they, also, transcend this version of existence?

* Do those who have accepted Christ have an evangelical obligation to "convert" those they hold dear? Is it somehow harmful to a faithful's standing in God's eyes if s/he fraternizes with the godless masses without attempting to "enlighten" them?

That should be about my two cents for now. Thanx for the time to read it.

good points la monkee, because im a shambles i shall reply to the latter ones first :)

Yes, we should attempt to enlighten friends/familys and everyone for that matter, but just because we try, doesnt mean we can 'convert' them.

Maybe familys do mean nothing in heaven, this could be because we do just simply forget about them, or because we are so overwelmed with being with God that nothing else matters.

I did have a conclusion, but being the shambles that i am, i have forgotton it

Whoa, trippy.

I don't somehow think that we will perceive our family members so differently from everyone else in the spiritual realm. I think that each soul will be equally valuable and special. I think that there will be a great sense of loss and mourning for ALL of the lost souls. You though will be truly happy like we don't even know what happy is to be in the presence of our Lord Jesus and the Father. The knowledge that we chose to take carries a heavy load.

But with my 'great loss' how can i be 'truely happy'

oh well, have to wait and see :)

Well, when the Sadducees were asking Jesus a hypothetical question reqarding whose wife a woman would be following the resurrection, if she had been married seven times, Jesus surprised them with his answer. Luke 20:34, 35 tells us:

"And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage"

The Bible says that those who make it to Heaven won't remember loved ones left behind. How could Heaven be perfect if there's mourning?

PercyPea

Vanja,

Maybe if souls don't remember their earthly families, there will be no mourning?

Percy,
Is that it? You have lost someone dear to you?
