    Which countries currently use the Euro? I've seen multiple websites name 14 countries and 12 countries, so if someone here (perferably from Europe) could name the countries that use it, t'would be great.

    European Union Members that have adopted the Euro;

    Finland - Portugal- Ireland - France- The Netherlands - Austria- Belgium - Spain- Luxembourg - Italy- Germany - Greece.

    European Union Members that have NOT adopted the Euro;

    Denmark- Sweden- United Kingdom

    Note: Every two years these countries will be judged whether their financial situation is accordingly to the criteria for joining the euro.

    It means that every two years there’s a revision on request by non-euro currency EU member to verify that their internal account-balance meet the monetary requirements.
    Basically those that want, have an opportunity every two years.

    The United Kingdom will most probably have a referendum in the year 2006 whether we should join the Euro.
    At the moment it looks likely that we're staying with the Pound Sterling for a good while

    for travelling the Euro is quite nice. I seriously avoid flying through denmark and sweden because you can't pay with euros at their airports (you can, but you get their silly playmoney back, which you then have to get rid of again)

    on the other hand, it seems like things got slightly more expensive.

    Denmark could have join the EURO, but the people voted no in a close to 50/50 election.

    as fare as i remember both the UK and Sweden could also have joined the EURO, but did not

    EDIT:
    spuriousmonkey, have you tryed asking for EURO in return.

    Well,… England is gonna be stuck with the sterling pound and Bush for a while.

    One thing is to want or not the EURO, and a total different thing it is to qualify for it, and worst, to maintain rigorous budgeting policies to not be penalized.

    Since most European countries end up paying for the previous golf war, cash flow is not given that easy the moment Bush wangles his prick.

    You can use euro in Sweden, we just haven't replaced the crown with it yet.
