I love guns. I love shooting, I love firing them, and I love cleaning them. What guns and firearms do you own? Right now I only own a .303 rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun. I also have a .38 special revolver, but that isn't in Canada at the moment. This is sort of a dream for me...

From the top (I think at least):

    H&K PSG1
Your common run of the mill Colt M4
    H&K MP5SD3
    Franci SPAS12

The two on the left are both MP5PDW

My friend was showing me on the internet today, he loves that gun. He said someplace about the tests the company puts each rifle through before they are sold. They must shoot 50 rounds from 300yds into a 10cm wide circle, at least I think that's what he said.

. What I would like is colt 1911 and a something .50 caliber rifle that would just be too cool.

    Something like a Baretta M95 I guess

    Since this is pure fantasy:

    Just for sentimental value:
    Ruger P95

To compensate for the poor safety of this boy, a

    Glock 17

Never forgetting the importance of a good rifle:

    Remington 710

And delving into the realms of pure fantasy (I'm quite sure this baby is impossible to get ahold of):

    AK-74

    To kill people with, duh!

    *Edit*

Okay, to take a stupid question seriously:

Why do you need a gun?

Glock for personal protection. Glock or a Ruger (but not the P-95, probably a P89). The Remington for hunting. I'll admit that the Kalshkinov has utterly no practical purpose, but it shore is purty.

Duh, to shoot! A few things actually. One, for personal protection, and to protect my family. I firmly believe that if I find someone in my house in the middle of the night I should have the right to shoot him between the eyes without fear of prosecution. And if you want to steal my car and I see you, you might end up with a bullet in a vital organ. When I finish college I might end up living in the south again, and I'll be packing all the time.

Second, as a sport. I enjoy firing guns. Whether it is precision shooting or just emptying a clip. I've played with an AK-47 (not the 74 though

), and it is really enjoyable just shredding the target to bits.

    Third, to show off

Nothing like having everyone drool over the size of your package.

Fourth, beauty. I collect swords, knives, and poisons. Why not guns? A well-made gun is a beautiful piece of hardware.

Oh and Xev, nice choices. You can get an AK-74, but they are rather expensive and they eat a lot of ammo. But yeah, it would be cool huh?

"Shoot on sight"? No. "Shoot the second he acts in a semi-threatening manner"? Fuck yes.

However, I very much agree that the current laws are ridiculous. There is no way that a burgler should be able to sue if he is, say, mauled by my sheperd.

Very well said. A well crafted gun in the hands of a trained person is a near perfect manifestation of power and strength.

Pure destructive potential made flesh (and steel).

I don't believe they can be sold to anyone under 21 (I'm 19), but I could be wrong.

    It would be sooo beautiful.

It depends which state you are in. Some states are rather lax (like Colorado) and doesn't even require a license for handguns if you carry it in plain sight as far as I remember.

My friend in Tennessee has an AR-15. They are reasonably cheap (about $800). I think that would be a great way to start off, and then later spend the $10K required to get a nice, top-of-the-line AK-74.

    *Laughs*

The Soulthern states are especially lax. But I live in Michigan, and in a very liberal town to boot.

Not to mention the fact that my parents would kill me if I brought even the Glock home. I presume I'll start out with something like that when I get my first gun. (Or a Ruger, as it was the first gun I learned to fire).

I have a fondness for the Desert Eagle, very smooth firing, so that's another option.

I must say that the AR-15 looks quite yummy.

    *Edit*

    Noting topic drift:

    Taser

A nice survival knife (note the slingshot)

And finally, a sweet little dagger

Hmm, my parents don't mind guns. In fact, my dad likes them too.

So you own a gun because you don't feel you can defend yourselves without the aid of a weapon?

Umm, no. Read the words I type, why don't you?

I would own a gun for aestetic reasons, as well as for the simple fact that I don't particularly want to be raped/murdered/dismemebered by the next Ed Gein.

I tried the link you put for the Katana (gorgeous sword by the way), i checked out the site...now are these swords real or just decorative items. I know a lot of these swords are fake but i would like to own a real sword. But seeing as how the price is 35.00 for some of them i think they are fake. Also does one need a permit or something to own a sword, a real sword.
