This is making me wonder about death again. I'm kinda having another existancial crisis. Nothing bad, but just wondering... If I live for about 80 years, I have already lived a quarter of my life...!!!

    That's kinda scary...

This is not the first time I have one of those "crisis"... I've been having them since my 13 or 14 years of age...

Does anyone around wonders about those things (young and old people)?

    Hey Truthseeker,

I remember having thoughts like that when I was younger.
It scared me to think that I might never do all the things I'd hoped for......that feeling passes.

Just don't forget to live for now rather than the future.
I'm now 35 and enjoy my life more than ever.
Let's face it, 80 is a nice thought, but who honestly knows............

    Enjoy yourself now!

And have you already done all the things you hoped for?

Er...quantity over quality? It doesn't matter how much time you spend on earth as long as you adhere to carpe diem. You could be struck down at any moment, by anything. Don't let the pressures of today's world tell you how to waste your life.

It's not exactly quantity over quality, it is just that some things take a long time to do. Like having kids... It may take years just to estabilish a secure, honest, trust-worthy and balanced relationship with a woman before you can even think on having kids with her. And it's even worse for women, I admit...

Some things takes time, and there is certainly a sense of urgency in me...

That doesn't make me waste my life, but makes me wonder wheter I will really get there. My life experience kinda shouts at me:
    NO

I understand that it takes time to set these types of things up, but does it really matter when your dead? I'd like to steal the words of EB White in stating that the Journey is more rewarding than the destination. As long as you live up every day, and enjoy the ride as much as possible, you'll be happy. It's good that you're questioning these things, however, because most people don't, and ride life as if it's eternal.

Trust me, as long as you focus on real priorities (as opposed to the ones that society wants you to have - such as being moralistic,) then you'll be happy. I understand this now - or so I think. There's always more to learn.

    Happy Birthday, TS!
Best wishes for the rest of your days.

Not at all....but the things that drove me as a teenager are very different now. It doesn't matter as I have other priorities.

I don't care that I didn't become a hot shot and my business was not a success. I never become an actress either (but that was more a childhood dream) and bum, I can't sing that well. I've discovered a lot more about myself and I like it! I think it comes down to maturity perhaps?!

anyway, chill out and enjoy your birthday.....have a nice day!

I would think you to be estatic that your life here on Earth is growing shorter and that soon you'll be in the arms of your god for an eternity of peaches and cream.

(or is party time for all the little wormies?)

    I'm 26.
People usually get that way when their subconscious doesn't feel that they are not getting as much accomplished as they could and should be.
Like a matter of procrastination and priorities.
What should be a priority is being put off for something of less urgency.
The only way to overcome it is to fight with yourself, and force yourself to do what should come first.
Momentum follows, but unless you're at the point where everything is effortless, you have to constantly fight with yourself to get things done.
The more you do it, the better you get at it.
Once you are at a point where everything in life is flowing, you are thinking positive thoughts, and speaking positive words, you develop a certainty that you can do anything.
Your feelings of fear are replaced with an awareness of yourself, and everything around you.
